When They Found It… (Writing Prompts)

Writing Prompts

So here's the Monday deal:

We're going to get inside your head. Yes, you heard that right, we want to get in there and help you write.

Sometimes you need to look out of the corner of your eye and see the world through someone else's peepers, sometimes you need to be inspired, prompted, encouraged.

So that's what we're gonna do every Monday with what you see below:

When they found it… (Picture Prompt)

We're calling them writing prompts and they're here to get your writerly engine revving, they're here to make you squint, stare into the distance, and then go, "Oh hey, that makes me think of…"

And you're off running.

What we'd love is if maybe you shared that inspiration here in the form of a comment. Write us a paragraph of what this might have inspired. Pen a poem. Throw down an ode.

Whatever you do, tell us a little bit about it here and whatever you create, know that it's yours. You could publish a whole book in the comments below and it's still your baby. We just get to see it born.

So.

Look up there. What do those words or colours or images inspire in you? Tell us won't you?

P.S. Want to see more? Take part in more? Well we've got more. Look at the links below, any of 'em will pop you over to the website of the Thursday prompts of Improbable Press,  Clan Destine Press' daughter press. Write for those too if you like. Join the folks who've written delectable stuff like…

"[it's] something like a prayer married to a ransom note"

"I watch you while you sleep, watch your scales changing
colour as you dream. Are you dreaming of me?"

"Then open your lungs, my dear fire siren.
Your song will lead them to their deaths…"

…how can you resist? G'wan, you know you want to. Or we want you to.

Or both. Yeah, both is good.
